The upper is an octave. In the general case you can call it a "chord" (it's two notes - or more - at the same time). You can play this by making two hooks with your index and middle finger and pulling lightly the strings, upwards. If you have a three note chord, <br><br>--2---<br>--1---<br>--3---<br><br>than make 3 little hooks with your fingers by slightly bending them and pull the three strings at the same time. If the same chord appears in a repetition in, say, eighth notes, it's a pretty tiresome thing to do...<br><br>If the tab looks like<br><br>---2----<br>-----4--<br><br>It's obvious that in this case you don't need to play two notes simultaneously. <br><br>Cheers.]]></content:encoded>
