On a similar note, someone posted a youtube link to Entwhistle playing the "Won't Get Fooled Again" bass-line in Opinions and Polls not long ago - well worth digging out, it's utterly enthralling....all 8 minutes plus of it!!!<br><br>It's just Entwhistle playing the bass-line - no other music - and John isn't even wearing cans, his timing must be unbelievable!!!<br><br> :D  :D  :D <br><br>Vic]]></content:encoded>

Growing up as a sax player, yes I loved the Crusaders Sax man who sometimes doubled on bass, it was a rite of passage to play Grover's <I>Mister Magic</I> or Ronnie Law's <I>Always There.</I> To play a transcribed Bird or Tran solo. For me if not most of my friends Sonny Rollins' <I>St. Thomas</I>.Meanwhie the trumpet players were going high trying to be Maynard Ferguson. <br><br>Well the Bass Players all were trying to do Stanley Clarke's <I>School Days</I>. No matter what style they were playing the song had touched of it from swinging to slapping funk. In the last 30 years has there been another song for the bass that all try to test their skill? A song which you know that if I can do this I can probably play with anyone.]]></content:encoded>
