When I looked it up, the description said it was a copy of the MusicMan Stingray bass -- which is excellent, though I haven't tried any of those either. :) Just heard good things about them, especially for slap style playing.

Good luck in your new role as bassist. For me it's one of the most fun, most satisfying things to do. You might find you like it more than you thought!
