Ok, I have a week in between lessons. About half way into that week my guitar sounds horrible. My teacher always has to retune when I see him and I have to suffer the sound in between lessons.
How on earth can I fix this problem. I hate waiting a week. Are there any tips out there.
Campbell.
Campbell,
I don't know how your finances are but the best investment (after guitar and amp) I made was an electronic guitar tuner.
I check the tuning every time I pick up my guitar to play (well, learn actually cause I'm a beginner).
In Australia, they cost from $20 so they aren't real expensive.
Oh, that sounds perfect. Where do I buy one? A music shop. $20 is quite reasonable.
Music shops will have them. Make sure it's a chromatic one.

AP tuner will only work if you have a microphone or a guitar to microphone cable to input to your computer.

That's true but even most built in mics work just fine.
Hi, Ill second Primeta's advice on the tuner being a chormatic. You will be thankful later.

With your chromatic tuner later on you will be able to practice bends with it.

My tuner has both guitar and chromatic settings.
If it doesn't make me look too ignorant :D , what's the difference :?:
The guitar setting will tell you which string you are plucking when it is in range and then guide you to the correct pitch and focuses only on standard tuning - EADGBe.
The chromatic setting will tell you which note it hears and you decide which note you want the string tuned to so you can tune to alternate tunings such as drop D.
