Yes the version I was refering to was much later than '62. But 1969 sounds just about right. I didn't realize it was a female singer though.

It may have been the Shirelles a girl vocal group who made the hit out of it.
I have to correct a mistake I've made, it appeared on the `Please Please Me' album not ` With The Beatles' sorry about that.
I love the song because it must contain one of the best of John Lennon's vocals.

I always loved this song. There was another group in the 60's who had even more success with this song than the Beatles, but I can't recall who it was. Beautiful melody.
