Chords: the song is made of just three chords, probably the first three everyone learn, since they are E, C, A: I think that's the best proof that you can write great music even with very simple open chords.

Time signature and Chord changes: 4/4. Chord changes follow this pattern:

Verse 1: 10 measures of E, 2 mesures of C, 2 measures of A, 2 measures of E (16 measures to complete the verse)
Verse 2 and 3: 8 measures of E, 2 mesures of C, 2 measures of A, 2 measures of E (14 measures to complete the verse)

Strumming pattern: strum happily with the classic D/du/u/du. If you want something a bit more “refined” use a two-measures pattern like

Bpm: at least 120-130 bpm
