You can always substitute a slide for a difficult bend on an acoustic - even though I prefer the sound of a bend in most cases, it always sounds better to have a clean slide than a fudged bend. There's plenty of songs I do that on, and it doesn't take too long to get used to. Sometimes a refingering is in order, but it's worth it :)

I love this tune. I like the solo too, the main part I have trouble with is the whole-note bends on the 4th and 5th strings at the 7th fret (if I remember right).

Got some lower guage strings on my acoustic but it's still tricky to pull off!

 Found this part during the outro if you wanna try it after the solo, go through 1 sequence of outro strums, play this, then go back to strumming..

To play along with the recording, you'll need to tune your acoustic down a half a step... Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. You can also play it in E and capo the 2nd fret if you want to avoid retuning. Plus you get practice on the dreaded B chord. :)

Here's the way I learned to play it, hope it helps, I changed some things from the original post, strumming pattern, and outro is different.

Tune your guitar down 1/2 step to play with recording low to high: Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb
I would start out running through C and G once or twice before starting the song and singing just to get your rhythm going.
Strum DDUUD 2 times for each chord during verse, 1 time for chorus except for last chord in chorus the D you should strum twice through

othewise pretty good,

by the way what does candescent mean? ive heard of incandescent but.... I don't think that the lyrics are "candescent". I think that it's

sometime I get so tense but I can't speed up the time

Mhh Yeah

I'm pretty sure that the chords in this last part of the song are D and G instead of G and C. If I remember correctly towards the very end there's an F in there too.Yep, D & G are the right interval - although I've never checked the key as I only really mess around with that one, and only the end section (I slap it onto the end of the Manic Street Preachers' Enola/Alone, as that has a reprise that sounds the same).

There's also an extra little bit to add in, a Dsus2/F# (sounds harder than it is :)) It's along the lines of one bar of D (xx0232), one of Dsus2/F# (2x0230), and two of G (320033).

Does anyone have a solo to post.....I'd like to give it a try as I've heard is is easy..... Go to this link. It's a pretty good version of the solo I think.
