I threw in a bonus verse (Dylan version) that wasn't on the Turtles recording, and I provided an alternate ending to the fade-out by simply repeating the Bridge. Thanks goes to Andrew Rogers (RIP) for a major portion of this tab.

Suggest playing the Am with the middle, ring and pinky fingers in order to slide in and out of the Bm more easily.

The 1st beat of every chord should be strummed near the bridge as a quick arpeggio

You may wish to try these Strum Patterns:

*  1st line of verse:  d  du  udu   for G & Am

* 2nd line of verse: d du for Bm & Am; back to d du udu for G

* Last line of verse: series of downstokes for C chord

* Chorus: mostly downstrokes on each word; ocassional du

* Bridge: d du udu for 1st Bm & Am
d du for 2nd Bm & Am
d du udu d du udu for G

It Ain't Me Babe - Turtles

Intro: G Am
	      / / / / / / / /

Verse 1:

	   G Am
Go a-way from my win-dow
Bm Am G
Leave at your own chosen speed
	  G Am
I'm not the one you want, babe
    Bm Am G
I'm not the one you need
    Bm Am
You say you're lookin' for someone
	          Bm Am
Who's never weak but always strong
	     Bm Am
To pro-tect you and de-fend you
	      Bm Am
Whether you are right or wrong
	   C D
Some-one to open each and every door

Chorus:

	          G
But it ain't me babe
  C D G
A-no, no, no it ain't me babe
	      C D G
It ain't me you're lookin' for babe

Bridge:

	Bm Am Bm Am G
	/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Verse 2:

         G Am
Go light-ly from the ledge, babe
    Bm Am G
Go light-ly on the ground

     G Am
I'm not the one you want, babe
     Bm Am G
I'll on-ly lead you down
    Bm Am
You say you're lookin' for someone
        Bm Am
Who'll promise never to part
     Bm Am
Some-one to close his eyes to you
     Bm Am
Some-one to close his heart
      C D
Some-one who will die for you and more

Repeat Chorus

Coda:

	         C D G
No it ain't me you're lookin' for, babe
	      C D G
I said a-no, no, no, it ain't me babe

Repeat to fade OR close with Bridge ending on G chord

(Bonus Verse)

    G Am
Go melt back in the night, Babe,
      Bm Am G
Every-thing in-side is made of stone,
         G Am
There's nothing in here mov-ing,
        Bm Am G
And any-way I'm not a-lone
    Bm Am
You say you're looking for someone
                Bm Am
Who'll pick you up each time you fall,
            Bm Am
To gath-er flowers con-stant-ly
        Bm Am
And to come each time you call
   C D
A love of your life and nothing more

Repeat Chorus/Coda
