Something I mentioned to Barnabus a while back....
Norman Greenbaum's version peaked in the UK charts at #1 - it was his only hit...
Dr and the Medics' version peaked in the UK charts at #1 - it was their only hit...
Gareth Gates' version peaked in the UK charts at #1 - it was his last hit...(HOPEFULLY)
So if anyone wants to do a new version, fine....we'll see you at #1....and wonder who you were a few years later....

Sorry but people tend to forget Dr & the Medics had a top 30 'smash' (well #29) with their follow up 'Burn' - I bought it anyway
and according to Everyhit.com, the Gatester had a #3 and a #4 afterwards.

Don't remember the Dr and the Medics follow up at all....and these days, I don't even look at the charts that much...but I do remember the conversation I had with my daughter about Gareth Gates, it went something like this,,,,
