Remember trying to work it out as well, but in those days, if it wasn't 3 easy chords I'd had it.....!

It took Steve till about 76 to break over here - this was one of his first hits....I loved "The Joker" first time I heard it, took THAT till about 89 to be a hit over here - and then only because it was used as the backing music for a Levi's ad.....

So he always holds a special meaning for me. I saw him in 1970 or '71 before Joker came out. His big hits at that time were Space Cowboy and Living in the U.S.A. I was always very impressed with Steve Miller. He didn't have any kind of special voice, yet he was a great singer. He is also a GREAT guitar player. He would have to go on any list of highly underrated players.
