But I think your strumming has a 1/2 beat too many in it. I was fiddling around and came up with this pattern as one that works pretty nicely for the verses.

This also sounds cool...
Play the upstokes, the "and" beats, on beats 1 2 & 4 with a stacatto feel. Muting with the heal or edge of your pick hand. (some call this a heal stroke) Almost like a Reggae groove.

For the chorus I use a more of a straight Du strum with slow single strums at the Bm G A for expression.

Great song for playing around with all types of strumming patterns.

Fantastic tab, great song as well.

Just tried it out, but I used a simpler strumming and fingerpicked as well. I will have to listen to the song to understand the strumming pattern.

There are a lot of songs which use maj/sus4/maj/sus2 runs..."Free Falling" which is pretty near the top is one, Lynrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" uses it as well, but in that song it's Dsus4/D/Dsus2/D

I'd advise anyone to play about with majors, sus4ths, sus2nds, and maj 7ths...you can get some really nice progressions out of them!

I've been a bit unwell for the last few weeks....I'll try and get round to "Get it On" etc soon....

Dead easy chords D, G, and A with a little pesky Bm on the last line
of each chorus.

In several places, you can trying playing around with the A chord on the
B string. The pattern is A Asus4 A Asus2 A. It brings more life to it.

The chord structures are:

Asus4-0 0 2 2 3 0

or if the Bm barre is hard just form e2 B3 G4 D4 and hit those strings only.
