I'm a huge Eagles fan and this is probably my favorite song of theirs. I too transposed and learned to play this in the Key of D, rather then in the original key of E (that is done without a capo) since it is easier to play... though I usually tune down a half step to make it easier for me to sing as well as play... then I'm closer to the original recording.

Yes you can capo the second fret and you'll be in E, but it will be an octive higher E then what is heard on the original recording.

NOTE: The intro is also heard at the end of the chorus, prior to the next verse. This is simply...

INTRO: | D Dsus4 | | D Dsus4 |

Here's an alternative to the solo that is played inbetween the Chorus and Verse 3. This is not the rhythm and chord progession of the solo, just an easy alternative that I came up with and could remember.

SOLO: PLAY FIRST HALF OF VERSE & LAST LINE OF CHORUS

Sounds smooth as it follows a pattern I have seen and heard used in other songs.

As far as the ending goes, the final chorus is a slightly drawn out, and then there's the outro that follows.

FINAL CHORUS:

CAUSE I GET A PEACEFUL EASY FEELING

AND I KNOW YOU WON'T LET ME DOWN_

CAUSE I'M ALLLLLL-READY STANDING,

I'M ALLLLLL-READY STANDING,

YES I'M ALLLLLL-READY STANDING, ON THE GROUND

OUTTRO: (move thru these fairly quick, slowing down on the last series to a final D strum at the end)

D Em G A7 D D Em G A7 D D Em G A7 D

For those of you who want to give it a whirl, the chords as found on the original recording are:

E
Esus4
A
B7
F#m

PEACEFUL EASY FEELING

This is a great song for us beginners because it only involves 4 cords with a relatively easy strumming pattern. Basically it's a lazy D DU UD pattern.

D x x 0 3 2 3	G 3 2 0 0 0 3
A7 x 0 2 0 2 0	Em 0 2 2 0 0 0

D G D G
I LIKE THE WAY YOUR SPARKLING EARRINGS LAY
D G A7 A7
AGAINST YOUR SKIN SO BROWN
D G D G
AND I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU IN THE DESERT TO-NIGHT
D G A7
WITH A MILLION STARS ALL AROUND

CHORUS
A7 G G D D
CAUSE I GOT A PEACEFUL EASY FEEL-ING
G G Em A7
AND I KNOW YOU WON'T LET ME DOWN
      D Em G A7 D
CAUSE I'M ALLLL-READY STANDING ON THE GROUND

D G D G
AND I FOUND OUT A LONG TIME AGO
D G A7 A7
WHAT A WOMAN CAN DO TO YOUR SOUL
D G D G
AH, BUT SHE CAN'T TAKE YOU ANY WAY
D G A7
YOU DON'T ALREADY KNOW HOW TO GO

CHORUS
A7 G G D D
CAUSE I GOT A PEACEFUL EASY FEEL-ING
G G Em A7
AND I KNOW YOU WON'T LET ME DOWN
      D Em G A7 D
CAUSE I'M ALLLL-READY STANDING ON THE GROUND

D G D G
I GET THE FEELING I MAY KNOW YOU
D G A7 A7
AS A LOVER AND A FRIEND
D G D G
BUT THIS VOICE KEEPS WHISPERING IN MY OTHER EAR

         D G A7
TELLS ME I MAY NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN

CHORUS
A7 G G D D
CAUSE I GOT A PEACEFUL EASY FEEL-ING
G G Em A7
AND I KNOW YOU WON'T LET ME DOWN
      D Em G
CAUSE I'M ALLLL-READY STANDING
    D Em G A7
I'M ALL ALL-READY STANDING
    D Em G A7 D
YES I'M ALL ALL-READY STANDING ON THE GROUND

Thats it, hope you like this easy classic. Please notify me of any mistakes you may find so I may edit them.
