Great song to put together! Thanks for that.
Cadd9 - x32033
G - 320033
D - xx0232
Cuts down on the movement a lot, and it sounds pretty interesting in a lot of simple songs. Not all of them, but a lot. And I need all the help I can get still, with only 6 months playing so far.

Good point and thanks for the addition. There's a really good website that's says if your starting out to play this way. He has a really good lesson on "Wonderwall" also. It's here in the "Easy Song" database somewhere? BJ

Great song to put together! Thanks for that.

As far as the C to G to D, I often "cheat" that a little for quick changes - I play Cadd9 in place of the C, I play the voicing of G where you add the 3rd fret of the 2nd string, and then a normal D. Looks like this:

Cadd9 - x32033
G - 320033
D - xx0232

Cuts down on the movement a lot, and it sounds pretty interesting in a lot of simple songs.
This is a fun little song by Tom Petty. I think it's in the key of A but I play it in G. So, if you play with the recording CAPO at the 2'nd fret. Unfortunately, I was never able to play the BRIDGE or middle if you prefer. The guy I play with tells it's just double time what you play in the chorus. I almost have it!!! That's why we practice. For strumming pattern, again, listen to the song but it's mostly DUDU when you get to the D (on my wall) you can do a quick DD . Now this looks pretty easy but C to G to D changes are very quick.

G
I used to live in a two-room apartment
                   D G
Neighbors knockin' on my wall
G
Times were hard I don't wanna knock it
                D G
I don't miss it much at all

CHORUS
C G D G C G D
Oh yeah I'm alright I just feel a little lonely tonight
C G D G C G D G
I'm okay most of the time I just feel a little lonely tonight

G
I used to need your love so badly
               D G
Then I came to live with it
G
Lately I get a faraway feeling
                    D G
And the whole thing starts again

CHORUS
C G D G C G D
Oh yeah I'm alright I just feel a little lonely tonight
C G D G C G D G
I'm okay most of the time I just feel a little lonely tonight

Bridge... suggestions welcome....

(== 2nd verse  & Chorus twice)
