Cuts down on the movement a lot, and it sounds pretty interesting in a lot of simple songs. Not all of them, but a lot. And I need all the help I can get still, with only 6 months playing so far. As far as the C to G to D, I often "cheat" that a little for quick changes - I play Cadd9 in place of the C, I play the voicing of G where you add the 3rd fret of the 2nd string, and then a normal D. Looks like this:

Cadd9 - x32033
G - 320033
D - xx0232
