VERSE 1

Am Em G
We told our tales as we
Am Em G
sat under mornin's sleepy
Am Em G
sky

Am Em G
Am Em G

Am Em G
With all the colours of the
Am Em G
sunrise shining in our
Am Em G
eyes

Am Em G
Am Em G

F Em G
One, then another with a
F Em G
story of yesterday's
Am Em G
lives

Am Em G
Am Em G

F Em G
or of a lover who had
F Em G
gone in a moment of
Am Em G
strife

VERSE 2

Am Em G
No thought of sleep ever
Am Em G
dwells upon the wise man's
Am Em G
mind

Am Em G
Am Em G

Am Em G
Some task or audience
Am Em G
stealing every moment of his
Am Em G
time

Am Em G
Am Em G

F Em G
Thus we have learned to live while
F Em G
mortal man lies waiting to
Am Em G
die

Am Em G
Am Em G

F Em G
How can we do what must be
F Em G
done in just one short
Am Em G
life?

BRIDGE

C#m
And if you ask, then you should
Ab
know, if you still doubt you should be
F
told, it was not we that made it
Ab
so, it was by those who went
  Am
before...

Am Em G
Am Em G

CHORUS
Am Em G
And there you sit tomorrow's
Am Em G
child, so full of love so full of
Am Em G
life, but you must rise to meet the
Am Em G
day, lest you become another
Am Em G
tale, and there you sit tomorrow's ...(repeat CHORUS and FADE)

Actually you have to play 3 beats on Am while the fourth one is split between Em and G. In any case, let's take the most common progression (Am, Em, G) this is what I managed to play

beat 1: Am, play a full downstroke (D)
beat 2: Am, play two sixtheens and one octave (dud)
beat 3: Am, play two sixtheens, one sixtheens pause, one sixtheens (du/d)
beat 4: Em and G, play two octaves (d d)

and then start again with the full donstroke on beat 1.
