To be honest, I re-used a earlier post from another forum, but the building of this TS-clone is so cheap and easy and the sound is rather nice, that I thought let's share it here to.

After years of not soldering electronics (because of my cataract surgery and 1 eye) I decided to get me a magnifier with lightbulb and try to build a TS808 clone kit.
I dusted off my soldering station and other forgotten electronics tools ( I gave away my scope years ago)
Ordered a kit and went for it :)

Day 1
The resistors, diodes and other "low" stuff

Day 2
Added the capacitors transistors and upright mounted resistors and diode

*Same day - a little later*
There was no wire in the kit so I fetched me a old floppy flatcable splitted it and used that for the external connections.

For the case I wanted that old - used - painted over many times look you sometimes see on ships, bridges etc.
I used multiple layers of black pain that I put on after a night in a cold shed, so it was thick.
That way I could push, scratch and deform the surface before applying the next layer.
Finished with a homebrew logo and multiple (9 or 10) layers of blanc coating.

The final result

Anyway,
Recorded a simple demo using my Tokai Strat , the screamer and my Cybertwin.
Started with 5 patterns using only the amp and all guitar switch settings.
After that I activated the screamer using average settings.

The fat mod I added is a little to bassy for my taste so I only used it shortly. I will be redesigning the filter later.

http://www.box.net/shared/yr8iy8b2uq

I tried a mod that changed the drive pot's range
http://www.box.net/shared/onn6nlu619

Afterwards I didn't like the sound to much and undid the mod

Well for a first timer after many years it came out great, worked at first activation....
Next one :)
