1) is the RP355 turned on?

2) is the USB cable plugged into both the computer and the RP355?
- if you have it turned on and then plug the USB cable in you should briefly see "USB IN" on the LED display

3) do you have the right version of system software on the RP355?
- it requires version 1.3 or later (1.4 is the newest)
- the RP355 will tell you the version when you turn it on

4) bring it up in this order
a) power on the RP355
b) plug in the USB cable
c) start X-Edit

5) I assume that you have a WinPC since you mention the USB audio drivers - have you tried reinstalling those from the Win CDs/DVDs that came with your computer or an OS upgrade you purchased?
