Yes, it is an incredible pedal. Sometimes you have to try several knob combinations looking for a good sound in pedals but the OCD each knob combination sounds great.

Mine is v4. I tried the v3 several times some months ago but I don't remember exactly the tones. Moreover it wasn't with my gear. Recently I found this video that compares the v2 and v4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI5_kdqhBX8

It is thick sounding with just the right amount of crisp brightness. When I set the distortion amount anywhere from 9:00 or lower I am able to turn my guitar volume knob to very the amount of dirt all the way down to a glassy clean sound with only a slight variation in volume. i take it with me everywhere as it will do this with any amp, tube or solid state, and be at unity gain... so you don't haave to drive the amp like with an old fuzz. When jamming, I set the gain at under unity so that if I turn of the OCD, my straight through sound is louder and I can play with pick dynamics. I want to try one of the other versions to see how less lows would open up the sound. I set the distortion on the high end so I can access all the lighter stuff with my volume knob.
Nice pedal.

They are friends so we were trying and comparing them. Nice pedals.

I liked very much the COT. It is absolutely simple, just a pot, and you can get great tones. It is very easy to get a Billy Gibbons' tone. Great dynamics. We were comparing to the OCD as well. (Practically every time I go to the store we speak or try an OCD. Always there is somebody that is asking for it.)

You know, I'm very happy with my Green Screamer but sometimes, something wakes up some old memory...

Summarizing: I bought an OCD this morning!

I'm not very active lately. Just a quick update.

Finally I bought a BBE Green Screamer this morning, it overdrives naturally the tube amps. I checked with a Strat and with a LP-like guitar and with Mesa and Fender tube amps. I was playing with my Strat this night. Great range of sounds. Some people says that it is similar to the old TS808, I don't know, I never used them. To me, it is very clear and its best feature is its dynamics: you can achieve an almost clean sound or a 'severe' overdrive tone just with the pick attack.

I also checked the Ibanez TS9 (BTW very expensive in Spain, around 180€). I liked very much its sound, I can identify some classical bluesmen tones. Even I can do a good blues tone with that pedal. It doesn't have the same dynamics than the BBE. The dynamics and the price made I went on the BBE.

However... I guess I will buy the TS9, normal or turbo, one of these months, perhaps, if I reach my goal in my next marathon!

The reviews make some interesting reading, and I can attest to their praises. Not one review that didn't rave on this OD, and I've found the reviews there pretty accurate. This pedal really is one of those 'sleepers' that players just haven't 'discovered' yet. At $69, hard to go wrong here. I know this is one pedal that I won't be getting rid of ever. If anything, I may buy another to have as a backup seeing as it's so cheap.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Rocktron-Austin-Gold-Overdrive-Pedal?sku=154226

Cheers and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Strat
