Hello all. I have just purchased a MIDI to USB cable for my Boss GX700. I have not had any success using it though. I want to connect my guitar effects processor to my computer so that I can transfer effects patches to the unit from my computer using the GX700 sound station editor. I would also like to be able to play my guitar through my processor and into my PC and out via the PC speakers. I use a MIDI foot controller with the fx processor too which goes into the MIDI in socket on the back of the GX700. The unit I bought is here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-USB-Connector-MIDI-Interface-Keyboard-to-PC_W0QQitemZ320067314664QQihZ011QQcategoryZ123445QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Can you please help as MIDI is new to me. Have I bought the wrong cable? I can't buy one that connects to the soundcard as the card has no joystick port. It is a new Creative X-Fi. Or do I need some software to go with it?
Cheers
Phil
