                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hmmm...<br><br>I've used Mackie gear before, but I am not familiar with those symbols. But from your description it sounds like a single tone control. Straight up is "flat' neither boosting or cutting any frequency. Turning counter clockwise should dial out (cut, attenuate) your high frequencies, turning clockwise will boost your high frequencies. <br><br>This is just a guess, but I think that is a single tone control as opposed to mixers with traditional Lows, Mids, and Highs controls. <br><br>Turn it will you play or sing into the mixer and listen.  :D <br><br>The reason I guess it is a tone control is because it has Hz, which is your frequencies.                         <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have an old Macke mixer. it works fine. however, on the dials I see three things that confuse me.<br><br>all the way to the left I see an infinity symbol.<br>stright up I see a U<br>all the way to the right is a Hz symbol...I forget which number is in fron of it.<br>intuition says all the way left is off or no volume (like on amps etc)<br>all the way right is full on.<br><br>but this is not correct. I am not sure.<br><br>my power amp has the same symbols. <br><br>how do I understand these dials?????<br><br><br><br>this is what I learned from another forum.<br><br>the infinity symbol means zero gain.<br>U at the top is Unity neither low or high cut. <br>Hz at the right is the highest gain.<br><br>left OFF right  Gain<br><br><br>simplified]]></content:encoded>
