Hi!
You've hit a nostalgic chord with me. When I was a kid, I got stuck at home with Mono, and my Dad got me some kits from Radio Shack. A sound effects processor(gun shots, sirens, helicopters...it was awesome) and a phaser for my bass. I built them myself, with Dad's guidance (The Geek Extraordinaire--don't get me started on the Timex Sinclair he brought home...), and there was no better satisfaction.

I took a look at the things Radio Shack has to offer these days, and didn't really find anything that fit your needs. However, a quick search on Google brought up many sites offering schematics. These were the first two to catch my eye:

http://www.freestompboxes.org/index.php?sid=6dd4ee6691fe36ed0adef97e56e2d2d4
It looks like you can get some serious information overload there.

And:

http://diystompboxes.com/pedals/schematics.html

Sorry I can't offer any more than a Google search for you, as the Mono is all gone, and I'm out of the effects building business, but I hope this points you in the right direction.

Good luck!!

p.s.--There are tons of electronics retailers that can provide you with all the Printed Circuit Boards, boxes and components you could ever want. As far as modifying old boxes, check out yard sales, flee markets, pawn shops. You might even give http://www.freecycle.org/ a try.

The only problem is I have no idea were to get old pedals to alter, and cant find a schematic for the one I want to build anywhere ( A fuzz phaser). If anyone could give me any advice I would be so appreciative I really want to do this and cant wait to get started.

http://www.thecreatorsproject.com/creators/joshua-third-the-horrors--2

Thanks!
