I had my vox wah modded. It was reletively inexpensive, a true by-pass, battery kill switch, increase in sweep, extra gain, and an adjustible pot that can realy open up the midrange - fantastic tone. I don't know what a jimi hendrix mod is. I have played most of his tunes and have been doing so for over thirty years. I have listened to live recordings of his that most guitar players haven't. I am not a gear conisuer (sp?) but I love the way he plays blues, blues based rock, and the tone he gets from his equipment. I play his songs but don't sound like him. Sometimes there is a close emmulation. I think limiting yourself to something you here on a radio is dissapointing. Hendrix had a lot of different sounds, espesially with a wah - IMHO.

The one thing I have heard that was desireable is that a component in the old crybaby's (I have an old Thomas Corp which is very sweet) uses what is coined (no pun intended here) a "stack of dimes" becasue that is what it looks like. From what I understand is that you get a better tone from this component as opposed to the newer pedals.

I had my vox modded by Garmopat, an amazing voicing. He has reviews on Harmony Central under "effects". Not intending to spam here but read the reviews and if you have something done by him he will spend time with you.

If you are inexperienced at electronic repair, you'll definately want an extra. Two things can happen while modding that should be considered:

1. You end up with something that doesn't sound the way you envisioned it sounding in the first place (not necessarily bad)
