I can only reply based on what I know of the RP 150 which I own. I assume the other RP models are similar, but just be aware this is based on a different model. Most of what you ask should be answered in your manual fyi.... it's that square thing with the words on paper. ;-)

1) My RP150 has 100 presets. There are 50 different ones and then a copy of all 50. So basically if you create your own preset and "save over", let's say preset # 1, then preset 1 is still available (located at preset #51). If you "save over" preset # 51 also, then you will not have access to the original setting. But you can do a restore factory settings at any time and that will wipe out any saves you have and will restore all the factory presets as they were. You should also be able to save any presets you like to your PC via the USB connection fyi. That's another story, and again it's in the manual.

2) Yes. You can just save your changes in the order you would like them (as you mentioned).

3) I don't think you can (on the RP150) anyway. With the pedal on the RP355 you may be able to program something to that, but I am not sure.

Just bought the Digitech RP355, and I have a couple of questions...

1) If I edit one of the presets that are programmed into the machine, and then press "store," am I saving over the old settings, so that the old one is lost forever? (I assume not...but I'm afraid to save until I'm sure...)

2) Is it possible to program the stomp pedals so that I can switch between my own presets easily while I'm playing, without screwing around with the knobs and buttons? Like, make Pedal #1 my distortion setting, Pedal #2 a weird phase effect pedal, etc.?

3) I see that I can choose between a bunch of distortion pedals and add an effect (say, chorus) on top of the distortion. But can I combine different effects, like "auto ya-ya" and chorus? (The answer to this one seems to be no...but thought I'd ask anyway.)

Thanks.
