It's not like someone can force on me anything, anyway, I'm too stubborn. ;)
It's just, I'd really like to write something of that kind. It's not that I'd force it on me. I have quite a few ideas.
Unfortunately I haven't done much of this kind.
My question wasn't about whether I should sell my soul or not but whether I should give it a try even if it might be
crap to a very high degree?
(I think I'll give the test piece a go. Are you happy with writing music to HIS style rather than your own? You're already asking yourself the question - it's obviously bothering you to some degree.

- who gets the kudos and the dosh? You wrote the song so your name should be on it - the copyright is yours. If he records the song, you should get paid for it. Is he happy with that? Does he want you to hand the song (and the rights) over to him?

Get those things clear and, then, maybe offer to write a test piece, see how it goes.

He wasn't really interested into my guitarplaying but he said, if I could write songs in english, I am his man.
I have absolutely no problem with writing songs, I LOVE writing songs, but somehow I think he wants different kind of lyrics than what I "normally" do.
Should I try it? Should I take the challenge and get me a different perspecitve of songwriting or should I reject the offer and say that it's not really my kind?
I personally would like to try it.
What are your suggestions? What do YOU do in such cases?

Thanks in advance and cheers,
motz
