There's a local Pink Floyd tribute band around my way, who a couple of years ago got in touch with their legal people to find out the situation (they were getting big and starting to worry about it). PF's legal people said they didn't give a monkey's as long as they were only performing the songs, not recording albums of covers and selling them.
