Gotta Drive The Train

Now, life's too short for yesterdays =8
The sort of thing with no delays =8

If life's ride is the bumpy kind =8
Just slide up front and you may find =8
Maybe while you were looking back =8
Your life has jumped right off the track =8

Now, it's alright to remember =8
For that's just part of history =8
But up front's where it's happening =8
Up where there's so much mystery =8

The real enjoyment of living =8
Well, it's not back where we have been =8
Just look forward with thanksgiving =8
To another new year, or ten =8

Life is searching all the byways =8
Never should you ever refrain =8
Because if you want to live life =8
You have all gotta DRIVE THE TRAIN =8

Now, some folks ride the train of life =8
But always looking out the rear =8
Just watching miles of life roll by =8
Silently marking off the years =8

They just sit in sad rememberance =8

I don't concern myself with that =8

unfortunately stopped writing a long time ago.this is just one of several projects

with a few suggestions, such as standardizing the syllable count
and adding some internal rhymes:
