Plus it does sound a little bit too much like bright eyes. That seems to be common around here. I'd recommend learning some music that you wouldn't normally listen to. You'll find plenty of good songs in the easy songs section from a good variety of artists. I can tell your not a begginer, but that'll just make it all the easier to understand what makes a vibrant composition.

The vocal melody stays the same and you really dont change the ntoes you hit throughout and i feel liek your trying to be a clone of conor oberst in the song. whihc i can hear but when he sings he changes everything up and goes crazy with it and belts out notes and sings loud and everything. id try that out if i were you.
