I mean how much damage could you do, right?
I picked mine up at the MF warehouse as a returned item. It was half off being damaged (the nut was missing from the output jack) 20% off coupon and I got it for $40, and they threw in a stand and cord. I had never even picked up a guitar before that.
I would still have mine but it was the blonde and I never grew to love the color, I would have painted it but the blondes became scarce so I sold it for 4 times what I paid.
I thought it was a great guitar, not just great for the price.

definitely neither twangy as Tele,
nor scooped as a Strat, so ...
while Fender-like in it's generally snappy nature, I'd say neither.

as I mod them, they get a bit more sustain (string-thru-body) and midrange rough 'n' tough (P90).
