Just a note - because of my reading of the Guitar Noise membership, it's just seemed prudent to be writing these lessons in the "single guitar arrangement" style. But, if there's a call for it, I can certainly write up some lessons on some more specific and less one-guitar types of lessons. I'm trying like crazy to finish up a lesson I promised Rahul ages ago on the various lead guitar licks in Take Me Home Country Roads, which I'm hoping will be done sometime before the end of June.

1. Learn & Master Guitar: http://www.learnandmasterguitar.com/

I bought this course and am using it to teach my two sons to play guitar. It is quite good and resembles traditional in-person lessons. The reviews for it are good. It will get you started and last about a year (or more).


2. Metal Method: http://www.metalmethod.com/

This is also an excellent course, geared more towards hard rock & metal. It has been around for over 20 years - I first learned to play using their first version of the course in the early 1980s.

I would say that you consider buying both, if the cost is not too much. They will both teach you from an absolute beginner to a very good intermediate level. But, their emphasis is somewhat different. Learn & Master Guitar teaches you how to read standard notation and Metal Method is more in TAB.
