Another thing is, is your saddle and nut really plastic or are they TUSQ. If it's TUSQ I don't think you would gain much by replacing it with bone. As has already been said hearing is in the ear of the hearer. JMO.]]></content:encoded>

Even bass strings have some treble so increasing the treble in the bass strings <B>could be perceived</B> as loosing some bass response.  <br><br>Having said that I agree with Nick's comment that it is all relative and you have to try it to find out if it is right for your guitar.  Keep in mind that if you already think the guitar sounds too trebley then it could get worse. <br><br>On the other hand if the current nut or saddle is cut bad or worn out even going to another plastic one would improve it by just letting the right treble through and get rid of the extra ringing you sometimes get from a bad seat.]]></content:encoded>

So the result is that it sounds brighter not that it lost anything, but that you gained something in the upper registers.<br><br>It's a subtle distinction, but it can be important.
