I had my wife buy some latex gloves which help save my callouses. I don't do dishes, but I have to clean the filter in a fish pond once a week. My callouses like the gloves but the fish don't care for my guitar playing. :wink:

Ohh and yes, I am also a filer. Hard to keep them skin hangies from plucking strings if I dont file every other day or so.

I've filed them down also. Sometimes if you peel them off the leave a big hole and it's difficult to hold the strings down.

I play everyday and my fingertips are harder but they don't have really hard callouses.
