I even wrote some software, which I never completely finished, that converts drum tab to a format that notation software can use to display music. Anyway, I pretty much usually use the same key that Modern Drummer uses (which is similar to what the book "Guide To Standardized Drum Notation" uses).<br><br>R.C (Ride Cymbal)<br>C.C. (Crash Cymbal)<br>H.H. (Hight Hat)<br>T.T. (Tom Tom - rack)<br>S.D. (Snare Drum)<br>F.T. (Floor Tom)<br>B.D. (Bass Drum)<br><br>Tab will usually be<br><br>Rd (Ride Cymbal)<br>C (Crash Cymbal)<br>H (Hi Hat)<br>t (Small Tom - rack)<br>T (Medium Tom - rack)<br>S (Snare Drum)<br>F (Floor Tom)<br>F2 (2nd Floor Tom)<br>B (Bass-Drum)<br>Hf (Hi Hat - w/foot)<br><br>Notation will have different size toms on different lines/spaces, but tab will use different abbreviations as well as different notation for the type of stroke used.
