if you get along with a band mate really well, it is better than hating a music player whiz. Good point. :)

I get on pretty well with all the members of my band. This is just as well as I'm actually a one man band with the ambition to play each instrument on a separate track and learn to slowly build up a song layer by layer.

There are difficulties with the one man approach though. Whilst it's easy to discuss the set list with myself over a meal or a drink, it's very hard to sack the incompetent ones. :shock: (Insulting yourself and hurting your own feelings has to be handled soooo carefully.... :roll: )

Our drummer is a disgrace, and utterly lazy, and the singer is an old fart who hasn't sung a decent note since the days of the school choir over 40 years ago, and the rest are pretty rough too... But the enthusiasm is there, which is the main thing, and 'we' do have a lot of fun. :wink:

Back on topic...

Good luck with the search Jim. If this one doesn't come up there will be another. And if you can make the trip there's always a spot in my band for a singer and player of your calibre (I'll break it gently to the current singer...). And we could do with Bish's drum and guitar skills too, if that band doesn't work out. 8)

a band I had joined soon grew. the band leader audition another guitar player and then a drummer.
I thought all three drummers that tried out were great. he chose the guy that was most like him.
at first I thought it strange, but then, anyone can be taught the song. if you get along with a band mate really well, it is better than hating a music player whiz. I have to agree. Many bands have demonstrated how their music suffered as their relationships degraded.

:) Its so true, alot of times its just who you click with the most.
