I noticed that we have the same strat Metaellihead, it's great isn't it? Yeah, but the pictures that Fender takes of midnight wine finishes doesn't do them justice. They really pop a crimson red when the light hits them and then shift to almost black when viewed at an angle.

I love playing the acoustic. No cables or amps to fiddle with. Just pick it up and go. I also think it makes you a better guitarist, in terms of technique. Been studiously working on finger picking blues the past few weeks.

I read Mataellihead's post and the camera was on the shelf next to me, and the guitars close at hand, so I thought I'd set up a rough copy of his pic, seeing as we have similar guitars. :wink:

Mine's an S6+ CW with the LR Baggs Duet II electrics. I could have got the Quantum II electrics, but the LR Baggs was supposedly a bit better (I don't actually know if that's true, as I didn't play them in the same shop and might not have been good enough to tell the difference anyway. Both sounded OK).

The QII had a soundhole mic on a little flexible neck thingie, whereas you can't see the equivalent mic on mine. You can still balance between the two pickups though, or just run with one. A few more knobs and levers on the Baggs one. 8)
