Hey, I've always loved hearing planetalks stuff when he posted on the forums, so I decided to check out his site. I was wondering if anyone here has tried out his instruction book Planetalk. It sure does seem to promise a lot, does it deliver? It's not exactly the cheapest thing, but I've been looking for a good instruction book lately, and this one sounds interesting. Anyone ever try it/ heard about it? Thanks.

The first time I heard a Beatles song was "Let It Be." Some little kid was singing along with it: "Let it pee, let it pee" and pretending he was taking a leak. Hey, that's what happened, OK?-some guy

I think he has a sneak peak of my upcoming review posted on the site. It's on the upper right side of his page:

I think it's a great book. I just printed up the slide rule that comes with it on card stock today. Read the review.

Just read Nick's review. Just wondering, did you get the video as well?

I did...and it's worth it just to see the contortions Kirk has to go through to show you his examples.

I'll post a review of it for next week.

Both are really good.

Nick,

I have two questions about Mr. Lorange's book. Firstly, how does it compare to the Fretboard Logic series?

Secondly, does Mr. Lorange's book come with a money back guarantee?

I think Kirk's book is similar to buying lady's underwear - once tried, no returns (I may be wrong).

In my opinion, you are paying to learn a secret. Once you've learnt the secret, there's no return - you've got what you paid for.

But, as I say, I may be wrong.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Ok Graham, how long have you been buying ladies underwear?

I don't believe there is a money back guarantee.

What's the difference between Kirk's book and Fretboard logic?

I like both, but Kirk's book is easier to understand and gives you a way to visualize the fretboard. Fretboard logic will do the same thing, but does it by showing you the layout, diagrams and patterns. Kirk has more of a mental picture you develop.

While Fretboard logic gives you a complete picture right off the bat, it gives you more info than you need. Kirk gives you the basics and you develop what you need to know from those basics.

Also Kirk only has three simple shapes you need to know.

Nick, I buy it and my wife wears it (like most of my salary).

And I occasionally sell it on ebay

Probably a little too much info (the selling of the underwear part.) Greybeard, I'll take your word when you say you're not wearing them. :D

So, Nick, you'd stake your reputation as an administrator by endorsing this book? You're saying it would still be beneficial to someone who already has the Fretboard Logic series?

I just hate wasting money on books (or anything else for that matter), that make such incredulous claims.

Thanks again.

If you have already memorized Fretboard logic, then this is a different way to do the same thing.

If fretboard logic was too complex for you to actually implement, then this book is for you.

And yes, I actually paid for the book myself, I don't get a kickback and neither does the site. When we've had products on that I don't like, I let you know. If I ever get my money back for an item I tell you to.

So yep, I guess I would stake my reputation as a reviewer on this book. I think it is really good.

Do keep in mind it isn't a trick, it's a method. It does take effort on your part to implement.

Nick

So if I've got this right, Graham's wife thinks her underwear is getting eaten by the clothes dryer or carried off by the cat when all along Graham is selling them on ebay! Naughty boy!
