                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Yes, it will make a difference.  Think of it this way, do you want to distort the sound that comes out of the eq, or put a eq onto the distortion.  If the distortion adds new frequencies, those new frequencies will be determined by the distortion box (e.g., midrange rich from a Tubescreamer)  changing the eq before the distortion will determine what basis those new frequencies are generated from. <br>A scooped mid eq will regain mids through the distortion. <br>A post-distortion eq can reduce mids if you want to restore a scooped mid sound.<br>That was the clearest example I could think of, but the same would hold true of a wah or chorus, do you want to distort the chorus or chorus the distortion?]]></content:encoded>

Experimenting with different effects placements will allow you to discover what you like and your own original sound and tone. here is a signal chain which would be what I would use. Even if you eliminate some in between. The possible combinations of effects are limitless, there are so many options available. Whoever its critical to know what won't work in a effect sequence.<br><br>When your experimenting listen to the impact an effect will have when you move it in and out of the signal chain. Remember everything and anything you add to your signal chain will effect the overall sound and tone.<br><br>This would be the standard ideal sequence before the amps pre-amp<br><br>guitar-&gt;eq-&gt;wah-&gt;octave-&gt;-&gt;Noise gate-&gt;compressor-&gt;eq-&gt;distortion-&gt;eq-&gt;echo-&gt;reverb<br><br>Joe]]></content:encoded>
