Unfortunately, no magazine fits your needs 100%. But, I get more than I need with three magazines: Guitar World, Guitar Player, and Guitar Edge magazines. You are going to get metal stories, or other things you are not interested in, but there should be enough articles and lessons to cover your classic rock needs (I am also a classic rock fan). The most tab is in Guitar Edge, the most lessons are in Guitar World and the most articles are in Guitar Player. For all three for a year is probably under $40-45. Google the magazines & you will find the subscription pages easily. If you only could get one, I think Guitar World will be the closest fit - they just did a classic rock issue in December 2007 (could have been January 2008) issue.

For a while, I was overwhelmed trying to keep up with everything in all three. Now I simply skim them and pick one or two items & work on just them. All three for a year are about the cost of one in=person lesson - pretty reasonable.

Good evening all,

I am in the market to subscribe to a guitar magazine of some sort. There are a lot out there and I was hoping to get some input on what you guys and girls like/dislike. I am hoping for a magazine with more than just monthly tab, possibly something with excercises or quick lessons (no lessons that would take two months to learn). Something for the advanced beginner or low level intermediate. As far as style of music (if it matters) I like stuff from the 70s. Don't like Metal! Don't like Emo! Really big on Clapton, Harrison, and Hendrix!! Oh yea, I'm in the US so no magazines from other countries if we can help it.

Mods, if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move this thread.

Thanks again to the good folks at GN for your anticipated assistance. Time to watch Judge Judy!!
