Hi friends... I've been looking around for a decent $400 - 500 guitar... I've abandoned the Les Paul/Carvin idea for the time being since they are going to run $900 - $1200 and there are plently of NICE guitars out there for less. One that I'm interested in is the ESP EC-1000. Does anyone have any experience with this guitar? It seems like it might be perfect for me... it is already "tricked out" with Duncan pickups, Sperzel locking tuners, Tone-Pros bridge, 24 frets, and an earvana nut. Looks like used ones can be had for around $500 - 600.

Here is a picture:

Another option would be the step down version, which is the EC-400 in goldtop. It has the same stuff with no abalone binding and no tone-pros bridge. Also has regular Grover tuners instead of Sperzel locking tuners. These go for $600 new, probably $400 used.

And finally... the Washburn Idol Wi-66. It has similar hardware to the ESP, although they tend to sell at a slightly higher price...

Any suggestions?
