Am I missing out on something?
Do I have to download special software??? One benefit with powertabs is you get both the tab and the "real" music. You also get to hear what it should sound like and if there is more than one guitar in the song you usually get all in one.

I use both regular and powertabs and go to the power tab if a) I can't find a regular tab and b) if I can't figure out the pattern or tempo etc..

And yes, you do have to download software but it is free. There's a PowerTab Archive that consists of transcriptions people have done. It's peer-reviewed, after a fashion, so if a tab is'nt very accurate it gets discarded.
