Yeah, it helps a little, but not much. I'm actually using Dean Markley Alchemy's right now, they're a bright string to begin with. I'ed like a warmer more contrasting accoustic sound in addition to what I'm getting now, though.

I went to a guitar repair store and got a piece of clear pick guard for 50 cents. The hard part was cutting a piece to fit using tracing paper. Once it was in place problem solved. Except when I strum down past the pick guard. But what the heck maybe I'll have a Willie Nelson look a like one day. It sounds too go to worry about, and I'm one of those guys that wants everything perfect with my stuff.

The S6 has taught me about an instrument having the look of character. I've yet to play another acoustic that I felt had a better sound, including the Seagull artist series.

I've got a Seagull s6 honeyburst cutaway that I've played almost every day sine I got it in 1996. There are some dings and scratches, and the satin finish has slicked where my arm and hand rests on the top. To me it always looks brand new. It was only when I was showing it to someone else a few months ago, that I "took a step back" and noticed how old and well-played it actually looks. Like Metaellihead said above, it gives the guitar mojo and people notice it when they see it.

It sounds even better than the day I bought it. I've played brand-new Martins and Taylors that don't sound as good as my 9-year-old Seagull.
