                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hueseph's got it. The P-90s have a fatter tone and more output than the Fender-style single coils, and more treble "bite" than humbuckers. They even make the Fender-style "quack," but a deeper voiced "quack." They are even more sensitive to picking up hum from external magnetic fields than Fender single coils, because of their higher-impedance, larger coils. But they've got a tone like nothing else, and to me it's worth putting up with the hum. <br><br>There are humbuckers made to look and allegedly sound like P-90s, like DiMarzio's "Virtual P-90s." I don't see how they can sound fully like P-90s with such different construction, but I'm sure they're nice pickups. (Haven't listened to any that I know of.)]]></content:encoded>
