But more importantly to your question I had gotten it about a week or so before his birthday so I had a chance to set it up for him. I didn't think I'd like it but I found myself playing it a good bit that week. I was thinking about getting the strat jr but I was wondering how hard it was to play. I really like the idea of a travel guitar and the color options are nicer on the strat jr than the strat standard (red :D ). I travel often and it would be very convenient. I also have medium sized hands (long fingers though). I know, I should look a guitar shop and play it but I'm not worried too much about how it feels because I haven't played electrics a lot and they all feel somewhat akward.
