Greybeard, yours sounds like the perfect price, gonna check some reviews. And Demo etc, yours must be the one I saw in the shop...same price...expensive for me. Would it be a bad idea to get them second hand off the internet or something? I wouldn't dare get a regular amp from the net.

You can use it with an amp when the time comes, by deselecting the 'AIR' (I believe that's what it's called) feature. You can get more info at line6.com; even manuals so you can see all it can do.
