There's two PODS (Line 6 company) that are available - the original one and the XT. That sounds like a pretty good price ($222 USD) for the newer version, even for the older one, which is $199 USD at MusiciansFriend.com. I don't know if you can order it from there though, but yes, it's a wonderful device.

You can use it with an amp when the time comes, by deselecting the 'AIR' (I believe that's what it's called) feature. You can get more info at line6.com; even manuals so you can see all it can do.

Best regards

but you use headphones with them not like a normal amp. I played using one in shop when I was trying out the electic guitars. Because I have such a low budget...I was wondering what would be the best buy. I was told about this "Pod" thing...I saw it in the shop but it was like 250 swiss francs. I'm planning on getting this Ibanez for about 300.-. 1 more month and I can get it but I don't want to get it and have to stare at it because I know i'll have a better time with my current acoustic than an unplugged electric. So...the question...what would be the best buy for these amplifier things...I already have studio headphones which will be perfect and I'm planning on playing heavy metal mostly...I mean slipknot like. The one I played on in the shop was had the perfect sound for me...I was hooked...the had to drag me out the shop but that one was 990.-. I have kinda got my eye on the pod if I can get it for about 125.-. Any advise would be great. oh...and if I want to play on a regular amp...but want the pedals that are built into the thing could I plug it in normally as if the amp were the headphones?

cheers
