                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[Good luck with it.<br><br>I am completely self taught, though I am considering taking some lessons on soloing with a teacher I did some work for a few years ago.<br><br>just wish I had taken up the guitar when I was 7 and not 47.<br><br>My youngest son is learning bass guitar and has been at it for two years now. He has lessons at school, has formed a band (trio), plays in a rhythm ensemble after school and his band came second in last months school talent show.<br>Not bad considering theey only formed up 5 months ago.<br><br>As I said, good luck with it.   :wink:]]></content:encoded>

I agree with you, causnorgin - Willie said that it takes about three weeks before you really learn something on guitar, but I've already seen improvement. It's so thrilling - for the first time in months, I actually want to pick up my guitar and play.<br><br>Hyperborea, that metronome looks exactly like my tuner, and I love my tuner, so I'm sold. Seriously though, I have a pretty oldfashioned metronome. Luckily, the Austin Music School is right behind Strait so I'll pick that one up when I go in for the next lesson.]]></content:encoded>

A cheap $20 Korg will do it.  I have an MA-30 (Froogle for it) and it does the job just fine.  If you need a tuner as well the Korg TM-40 has both a tuner and a metronome - I got one for my nephew last XMas.<br><br>Congrats on the private lessons. I don't have a decent metronome yet, but I've tried the tremolo picking on Death Cab's "title and registration" and am playing the first bit much more accurately and quickly than ever before. He's also trying to help me keep my wrist still; apparently I turn it all weirdly when picking the strings. <br><br>These lessons are going to rock; the price is more than worth it.]]></content:encoded>
