That is interesting. sometimes I DO wonder about those things, like Coke, it's the "real thing". One would think they're referring to a Telecaster, or a Les Paul?

Speaking of which, and you being from Bristol, what do 'ya do when Rowdy Busch is in your short track-tempered town? Hide your guitars?

Musta been a bad day somewhere, where they made those 3-ways?

Perhaps the Gretsch has a special design, or cosmetics unique to Gretsch? So, I hope it lasts for you, and you find the problem elsewhere.

Good luck - good to keep us in touch.

Edit: I always put Teflon Micro-Oiler lubricant, or PTFE from the SOURCE into every switch, and pots as soon as I get at 'em. There is nothing that says you can, or you can't. But it works for me, and I "just do it". I think NIKE said that!

I must be doing something wrong, but gee-whiz, my replacements never go bad. :?

Yes, the PRS was under warranty, but it was so much easier and cheaper to replace it myself then go over there, drop it off, go back over to pick it up. The 3-Way toggles from Guitar Fetish are do just fine. I actually like this one better than the stock. The stock gold colored chrome did not have a gold-chrome post. Just plain chrome.

I thought my toggle on the Gretsch might be exiting history too, but I now thing it might be the cable input connecter. The toggle seems to be functioning just fine as far as moving parts are concerned.
