I put a bend about 3/4" down and another barely 1/4" and the strings just threaded right through with no trouble at all. The high e was a tad sharp on the intonation afterward but that was easily fixed. The new Ernie Ball Slinky 10s sound and feel much better, too. If you notice the relief gets to be too much, then do 1/8th turns to tighten the rod, and let the neck set up for a few hours before checking again. You will probably need to check intonation as well, but that's very easy to adjust on an electric guitar.

Actually, I'm putting 10s on it. Is that going to be a problem, or are they close enough in size not to make a difference in the action? I hadn't thought about that.

As you're taking the old strings off, take a look at how they slide over the saddles and out the back of the bridge. The difficulty with a new string is getting it into the bridge and up over the saddle so you can grab it ... I make a bend in the first inch or so of the string so it sticks up as I push it through, and then it's easy enough to get a grip on. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Mitch. Is there anything else to watch for? Anything that is different from re-stringing an accoustic (which I don't have a lot of experience with either) or does it just LOOK different?
