You were all correct when you said that when either knob is turned the whole way down, it kills all sound.  I did some experimenting last night and, when in the middle position, both pick ups are active as long as I'm sending some volume to both of them.<br><br>Thanks again.]]></content:encoded>

In the middle position turning either volume pot all the way down will kill any output.                         <content:encoded><![CDATA[When the switch is in the middle both volume and tone knobs should work.  If only one is working that's more than likely a problem with the switch. And yes it is normal for one volume control or the other to cut it out completely due to the way volume pots work by dumping the signal to ground.  It eventually puts a full load on both pickups. <br><br>I assume since you didn't say otherwise, that if you switch between treble and rhythm they work fine individually.<br><br>Make sure they are both working by putting the switch in each position and tapping on the pickups with a coin to see which one is working in each each position with the amp turned on.  Obviously in the middle you should get something from both pickups.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[I recently purchased an Epiphone LP Classic and I think I may have a problem with the toggle switch.  The owner's guide says that, when the switch is in the middle position, both pick ups are active.  However, when mine is in the middle position, only the "treble" volume knob works.  When I turn the treble the whole way down, I get no sound.  Shouldn't I be able to adjust the volume for both pick ups?    <br> <br>Any help would be appreciated.  It's a 45 minute drive to the shop I bought it at so I'd like to  know if I actually have a problem before I drive out there.<br><br>Thanks]]></content:encoded>
