To that, i say: you may have a lower quality instrument, and it may be much easier in the long run to get a new guitar. I may get back to you on this one, but ive been pretty busy lately, and havent had much guitarnoise time, so it might be a while before i'm back again.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[By nut cutter I'm thinking you might mean something to shape the overall height and width and whatnot of the nut, or do you mean doing the slots for the strings?<br><br>Either way, you would use files to shape it, and nutfiles (or other files which should be very thin, with cutting edges on the...edges) for doing the string slots.<br><br>You can get nuts that are already slotted -- or at least with the slots started -- and already close to the shape (Fendery type or Gibson shape), and then you get it down to the final shape on your own.]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[They're supposed to be glued on with just a light wood glue, like Elmer's, just to hold it in place when changing strings. The tension of the strings keeps it on, but it's supposed to be just sorta 'tacked' on there with a minimal of glue. <br><br>And if this is so, you should be able to dislodge it with just a gentle tap of the edge of a screwdriver or something. When you replace it, use a tiny bit of glue again so it's easy to re-replace if need ever arises.]]></content:encoded>
