                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[The lettering on the headstock is probably under a layer of varnish (or whatever clear finish is on your guitar).<br>How experienced are you  at removing varnish, and re-varnishing wood?<br><br>The pickguard on most acoustics that I'm familiar with is glued on with a fairly strong glue, or perhaps a double-sided tape on some brands.<br>The trick to removing the pickguard is to not damage the wood with any tools. <br>Again, how experienced are you at woodworking projects?]]></content:encoded>

It says Franciscan for what brand it is and I'd like to remove it.
