I found an alternative to the more expensive nut files you see selling for around $45. If you do a search on eBay for "jewelry files" you'll see a ton of them for less than $10. Make sure that the size is 2mm or less. I got a set for around $6 shipped from HERE (however I will warn you that this seller took over 3 weeks to get them to me and never apologized for the delay).

I needed to lower the G, B, & High E strings on my VooDoo Acoustic/Electric a bit and just used these files. It worked GREAT! The nut on my guitar is plastic so I am not sure how they would work on graphite or ebony nuts but at this price it's not much of a risk.

***Disclaimer***

As with any modification you do take it slow AND only file a little at a time. I lowered all 3 strings in less than 10 minutes so it doesn't take much! BE CAREFUL!!!!!!
