Took the guitar in to the shop and they said something about the winding or something like that was coming off the core...not really sure what they meant, but I bought a set of Elixer Phosphor Bronze with that fancy nanoweb technology and it sounds much better!

On three strings?!?! Sounds to me like they just a heavier gage on it when they restrung.<br><br>I've seen some crazy stuff over the years with weird noises but never had 3 strings go bad in pack.  Usually I found(and did it myself) that when you stick the ball end of the string into the bridge then set the pin in it sometimes the wire will get caught on body of the guitar on the inside. This maybe what caused your strings to unwind. Make sure the ball is resting on body and not the edge of the string. Man those will rattle like crazy and drive you insane.]]></content:encoded>

If so, the tension of the strings is less and the neck of the guitar will tend to spring back and straighten out (or even bend backward.) That lowers the action and causes the strings to buzz on the frets. You probably need a truss rod adjustment.
